It is actually a misnomer that Henry did not begin this contract until 1815. This gun has in the bright-finished musket style barrel with encircled "P" proof on barrel, near the breech and "Salem" on left side. Fitted at muzzle with a bayonet stud. Lock is marked "US PHILA" at the tail and "J.J. HENRY" in the center. Standard iron furniture with two spring retained barrel bands. Steel ramrod. Walnut musket-style stock with dished cheekpiece and numerous markings on left behind the sideplate including a large "R", "I", "v" and "g". CONDITION: All metal parts in original in the bright. Wood has been cleaned and there is a large crack on left side between sideplate and first band. No visible restoration or repairs. DLM
