(A) FINE MAYNARD PATENT MODEL 1873 NO. 10 SINGLE SHOT SPORTING RIFLE.
This is a .40 caliber center fire which could be the .40-40, 40-60 or .40-70. These rounds all feature the over size head that fills in the gas gap. It features the blued octagon-to-round barrel, a globe front sight, a wind drift single leaf rear sight, a Mid Range tang sight, case colored frame and lever, fire blue hammer and trigger, checkered walnut stock with pistol grip, nickel plated Swiss buttplate, and matching checkered forearm. CONDITION: Fine. Frame colors have darkened and oxidized. Barrel retains the majority of its blue patina blend. Stocks are excellent with sharp checkering exhibiting minor impressions. Mechanically sound with a strong and clean bore showing minor frosting.
