Octagonal multi-groove rifled barrel. Marked “Canon Cordu” in gold script on top flat surrounded by one gold band at muzzle and two at patent breech. Flat beveled lockplate converted to percussion, indistinct maker’s mark and sprig of engraving at tail. Finely engraved steel mounts including French style triggerguard bow and finial engraved with scene of an estate. Figured walnut stock and replaced ebony ramrod. Good condition. Barrel retains generous amounts of fading brown. Breech retains 80% blue, lock retains traces of fading case colors and furniture is a grey patina. All surfaces have an old lacquer finish on them. Stock are excellent with some light marks from use.
