(A) HARPER'S FERRY 1855 BRASS MOUNTED PERCUSSION RIFLE WITH BAYONET
Wonderful brass mounted Harper's Ferry US Model 1855 rifle. Side mounted saber lug and all brass furniture. Lock and tang dated 1858 and fitted with Maynard tape primer mechanism. The Model 1855 Harpers Ferry was limited to 8700 total production. Rifle is complete with the brass handled pattern 1855 Sabre bayonet without scabbard. CONDITION: Very fine as found and uncleaned. Bore is very good with well defined rifling. Lock and Maynard tape prime operate properly. Wood is very fine with no visible cartouche. Mechanically excellent.
