Produced by the Providence Tool Company in Rhode Island from 1866 through 1871. The one piece walnut stock has the WC inspector stamp that was used on all weapons made for a foreign contracts. The left side of frame with the Peabody legend along with sundry sub inspector stamps. Standard features include the case color frame, sidelock, barrel band, lever, hammer, block and buttplate. Round barrel is blued with a post front sight, small folding ladder rear sight, and saddle ring and bar. CONDITION. Retains nearly all of its bright colors and blue, even on the butt plate. The screws still retain the majority of their nitre blue. Stocks are excellent. Mechanically sound with a bright bore. This crispy carbine has seen little to no use.
