The lock is stamped with maker Robert Johnson of Middletown, Connecticut and dated 1836. The left side of walnut stock has the "JH" cartouche for Joseph Hannis. The left side of barrel breech is stamped "NWP" for inspector Nahum Patch. Metal was finished in the white, excepting the lock plate and hammer. Swivel ramrod. Evidence points to an expert reconversion using proper parts. CONDITION: Fine. The lock and hammer have turned a dark patina. Balance is clean with overall age freckling. Stock is excellent with a few minor dings and impressions. Fine working order. Bore is fairly crisp with light abrasions and residue.
