Manufactured circa 1765-1870, with total production approximately 12,000. Signature 2 - 1/2" teardrop barrel in ubiquitous .41 RF. Walnut birdshead grips, light floral engraving on frame and barrel. Silver plated brass frame and iron barrel. Blade front sight with "NATIONAL ARMS Co, BROOKLYN, NY" on flattened rib behind, notch rear sight built into hammer. CONDITION: Barrel retains the majority of the silver plate with scattered pockmarks throughout, most on underside of barrel. Frame with approximately half of the plate, with most retained in protected areas, high edges with more brass. Grips are good with handling marks throughout, including some scrapes on the sweep of the birds head and a minor chip on right side. Mechanically fine, bore with visible rifling, frosted throughout, and one area of deeper pitting on bottom. Formerly part of the Allan Klein collection.
