Produced in 1878, to fulfil a contract with the US government. The barrel features a one line address with a broken serif in the T of PT and two lines appearing under the "O" in Co., both features found on Nettleton inspected revolvers. The frame has three line patent dates and US property marks. The are "HN" inspection marks found on the frame, barrel, trigger guard, cylinder and back strap. The grips no longer have their cartouche. The bullseye ejector is intact. The revolver is in a known range of guns shipped to New York state militias. CONDITION: The revolver has an even, grey patina throughout, with some mottling of its surfaces. Mechanically fine with all hammer notches are intact and a lightly frosted bore. The grips are worn, and some shrinking has occurred, but without breaks or chips.
