This pistol is dated 1837 on lock along with eagle head, "A. Waters", and "Millbury MS". The barrel is inspector stamped "JCS P". Left side of walnut stock has two square inspector cartouche stamps: "JH" for for Joseph Hannis and "WAT" for William Thornton; the WAT is visible but faint. All metal is in the white. Features a small brass front sight and the swivel ramrod. CONDITION: Excellent. All metal is bright. All legends are sharp. Stock is excellent with some finish added at one time. Mechanically sound with a mirror bright bore. This was the last official US issue flintlock pistol and this example does not appear to have seen any real use.
