A classic Moroccan Snaphaunce rifle. The walnut full stock partially sheathed in engraved white metal, possibly low grade silver. Barrel is held on with nine capucines, also of engraved white metal. CONDITION: Lock of characteristic form, partly functional, heavily patinated. The octagonal to round barrel is heavily patinated. The forend is missing considerable wood. Stock additionally decorated with numerous tacks. Butt of fishtail form. The classic weapon of the Berbers of Morocco.
