These pistols are American restocked British pistols done circa 1810-1820. They have brass barrels marked "LONDON" on tops with a cartouche. London private view and proof marks on left sides of breeches along with crown over "IB" for Joseph Brazier. The brass lock plates are marked "I / BRAZIER" in centers. Engraved brass furniture including grotesque mask pommel caps. Small silver oval wrist escutcheons. Figured maple stocks. CONDITION: Barrels retain a pleasing soft mustard patina with green corrosion around touchhole. Both pistols are very good reconversions with modern lock components. Brass mounts show wear and use and retain a pleasing dark mustard patina. Stocks very good, some chipping around pommel cap stirrup on one pistol. A very attractive pair of tiger maple stocked pistols.
