Lot consists of: (A) A first model offered from 1888-1902. This example dates prior to 1898 (serial number 53252 was produced in 1894). Five shot, double action hammerless model with 3 1/2" barrel, early top break latch, nickel finish, case color trigger, blued hammer, pearl grips with ribbed barrel sporting the S&W legend. CONDITION: Excellent. Solid 95% nickel showing usual handling marks and minor oxidation. Nice color on trigger with majority of trigger guard blue. Pearl grips are excellent. Mechanically sound. Bore is bright. Cylinder face shows nearly any burn. (B) An antique pre-serial number 209301 4th model, five shot, double action, top break, nickel finish, case color trigger and hammer, blue trigger guard and S&W gutta percha grips. This variation was offered from 1888-1909. CONDITION: Excellent. About same as the above gun. Both guns are antique, quite nice and in collectible grade.
