(A) POSSIBLY SOUTHERN FLINTLOCK KENTUCKY RIFLE.
This unusual rifle features a heavy rifled round barrel with top flat, brass front sight and notched iron rear sight. Later Germanic lock. Brass furniture including four-piece patchbox, oval wrist escutcheon, and full sideplate. Plain maple stock with unusual carved cheekpiece with relief scroll carving integrated behind it. Wood ramrod. CONDITION: Barrel and lock retain a brown surface. Lock functions well and is crisp. Brass retains a mostly dark patina. Stock shows scattered marks from use and some minor professional wood restoration around lock.
