Manufactured at the State Military Works in Greenville, South Carolina. Chambered for its proprietary .50 Morse Cartridge. Serial numbered on underside of frame forward of trigger guard. Round barrel with diminutive drift adjustable front blade sight with dovetailed rear sight. Brass frame assembly with upward tilting loading assembly. Varnished buttstock with rounded brass buttplate. Brass frame has integral pistol grip assembly. Forearm is of one piece with one piece wiping rod and retained by 2 cross pins with brass stock tip. 39 1/2" overall length. Carbine is void of markings with serial number on underside. These rare little carbines are rarely ever encountered and not frequently offered at public sale. CONDITION: Very good as found with a pleasant patina overall on barrel. Brass has been cleaned long ago but is toning to a mustard patina. Wiping rod is a contemporary replacement. A wonderful and rare Confederate carbine.
