Extremely rare Charles Sneider side by side shotgun made in Baltimore, Maryland circa 1880. Some feel there are less than 200 ever made. These guns are extremely if not overly engineered with a side type automatic safety, double lug locking system. and sidelock action. Gun features Damascus steel barrels with extractors, matted rib marked "Sneider's Patent Baltimore, Md." with bead front sight. Case hardened hammerless sidelock action with serrated front trigger, plain back trigger, and scalloped sides. Sideplates have banner with scroll engraved on each side with right side having the name "P.E. Yost Phila. Pa. Oct 1887" in banner which could be an owner or the marketer of the gun. Walnut checkered pistol grip stock with hard rubber grip cap, German silver stock shield, and added Pachmayer vented recoil pad. Walnut splinter forearm with push button release and ebony tip. CONDITION: Barrels are worn to a silvery patina with some light surface corrosion. Rib has 2 plugged holes at breech possibly factory, action worn silver with traces of fading case colors. Wood has been cleaned with checkering worn flat and pad added. Good bores with good lockup and mechanics. DLM
