These are not conversions but were purpose made from 1868-1872. It has all the usual 1868 traits including the 1869 US Eagle head on block. Matching serial number on left side of barrel & frame. Short 1 - 7/8" arch under block. The lock has the US Springfield Eagle stamp with the 1864 date. Standard one piece walnut stock, two band, metal rod, standard Allin style ladder rear sight, unit number "34" stamped on butt plate. CONDITION: Very good. The block, frame and lock are a thinning, almost nitre, blue. Balance of metal is a soft patina. Stock is solid, not legible cartouche stamps, with usual scattered dings. The bore is well defined with minor abrasion. Comes with a US stamped bayonet.
