Springfield produced only 3422 of these converted Cadet rifles. It features two bands, metal rod, near full length walnut stock, post front sight, folding ladder rear sight, matching serial numbers on left side of barrel and frame. No proof marks on barrel and no sling swivels, which is correct for this model. Walnut stock shows no cartouche stamps but does have a 43 rack stamp. Block is stamped 1870 with eagle head and US. Lock is dated 1863 with US SPRINGFIELD and eagle. Comes with US stamped bayonet. CONDITION: Fine. Case colors have darkened. Barrel and bands are finished in the white and show some minor oxidation. Stock is excellent with some scattered dings and impressions. Bore is well defined with minor residue.
