(A) SPANISH RIFLED BRONZE 6-POUNDER CANNON WITH CYPHER OF ISABELLA II DATED 1865.
This attractive bronze gun measures approximately 37 - 3/4" from muzzle to cascabel. Rifled bore measures approximately 3 - 1/2" (6 pounder). The reinforced chamber has a large script crowned "Y2" monogram of Queen Isabella II of Spain. Isabella II reigned from 1833 to her disposition in 1868 at the close of the Glorious Revolution. The breech has "F. DE S. 1865 / No. 9575." La Real Fabrica de Artilleria de Sevilla, Seville foundry mark, date and serial number. Muzzle is marked "8 C.sC.". Left trunnion has "BRONCES / REFUNDI / DOS" bronze marking. Right is numbered "P. 100 K." Touchhole has been bushed. Cannon appears to have had sights and a level, now removed. A display naval style 4-wheeled carriage is included. CONDITION: Very good. Bronze displays a very attractive, deep mellow patina. Markings are clean and legible. Carriage has a a coat of brown paint with some scuffing and wear.
