This standard US Springfield make service rifle is dated 1819 on lock and tang. Lock has the US eagle. Left side of stock has the JN cartouche for John Newbury along with script "P" at base of wrist. The barrel still shows the eagle head proof with US & V (can't see P). Features three bands, full length walnut stock, all iron hardware and furniture, and original flintlock cock. The spring and pan have been replaced but were properly done. CONDITION: Good. Attic found with salt and pepper texture throughout, with exception to replaced parts. Stock is solid and more than presentable with usual dings and dents but no major damage. Cock works fine. Bore is dark.
