Referred to as the Navy Model, it is simply a No. 3 top break double action revolver. All of these were manufactured prior to 1898. This standard revolver features blued finish with case colored hammer and trigger and sports a pair of period pearl grips. There is a star stamped on the butt which would indicate it was returned to the factory. There is some salt and pepper finish on two cylinder flats where the revolver sat. There is wear on both sides of the barrel, high edge wear, some storage marks, but the revolver retains approximately 65% of the original finish. It is chambered for the more popular .44 Winchester cartridge. Has nice case colors on hammer. Pearl grips are excellent. Action is perfect. Strong rifled bore with usual minor black powder abrasion. Blued examples are far scarcer than their nickel counterparts. This is a nice example.
