Approximately 6,150 manufactured between C30000 to C40000, adopted for socket type bayonet. Features full blued round barrel, three barrel bands, metal tip, middle band swivel, military post front sight, folding ladder rear sight marked "R.S. LAWRENCE", military style walnut forend and walnut stock, rear sling swivel. Barrel is stamped "SHARPS RIFLE COMPANY NEW MODEL 1863". Patent dates on both sides of frame. Barrel retains approximately 95% of the original blue finish. Left side inspector stamp "MNM" for Moses N. Marshall, who inspected the 1863 Sharps rifles. This rifle remains in beautiful all original condition. Original patchbox on right side. Wood is excellent. Barrel bands are patina. Case colors have nickeled out. Strong, excellent, clean bore. Far above average condition with loads of original finish.
