.22 caliber, 8-3/8” octagonal barrel, marked THORNTON & SONS. LONDON” on top flat, near breech, stiff leaf engraving around muzzle. Small front brass post sight, small notched rear sight. Flobert type rim fire action, engraved tang and back of hammer. Varnished walnut half stock with checkered grip and horn nose cap, engraved steel furniture. Good condition, barrel and action with light grey patina and some scattered dark areas and spotting, steel furniture with light grey patina. Bore now has no rifling and some pitting. Stock very good, as refinished, with scattered marks from use.
