Lock dated 1863. Classic 2-band configuration with 3-groove rifled barrel, small blade front sight, ladder rear, walnut stock, 2-iron barrel bands, and a brass butt plate. A Confederate "JS" anchor stamp present on behind the trigger guard which appears to have been added later. Many of these 2-band guns did see service with the Confederacy in the Civil War. CONDITION: Very Good with an aged patina.
