George Tryon of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania manufactured Kentucky style rifle with "P" in circle proof on breech. Full octagon rifled barrel with rifle sights stamped "Tryon Philada". Replaced lock and screws converted to percussion lock marked "Ross". Curly maple full stock with brass furniture including four piece engraved "pineapple" finial patchbox. Silver barrel escutcheons with flat barrel keys. Silver oval thumbpiece. Double set triggers. Hardwood ramrod with threaded tip. Possible trade rifle. CONDITION: Overall good with metal having aged patina. Barrel cut at front possibly about three inches. Wood has remnants of original finish with two six inch cracks towards the end of the forestock. Lock functions but is a little sticky. From the Robert Sadler Collection.
