Issued from 1817 through 1820. This is the early type 1 with lock stamped "S. NORTH", an eagle with "U" and "S" to either side, and "MIDLn CON". The left side barrel breech shows the "US" and proof "P" stamp. Pistol does not have a date. The barrel band features a small brass sight, a period hickory ramrod, one piece walnut stock, all iron hardware and furniture. There is a hand carved D on left side. CONDITION: Very good. Reconverted back to flintlock. All metal is a dark patina. Stock is solid with sundry dings. Mechanically sound. Bore shows abrasions. PROVENANCE: Ex. Castlerock Museum.
