Produced in Middletown, Connecticut, from 1819 through 1821. This example is dated 1821 on lock with "S. North MIDDLtn", "US", and eagle. Left side barrel breech stamped "JD" with proof "P" and "US". All iron furniture and hardware with exception to the small brass front sight and pan. Features a single barrel band retained by springs, a swivel ramrod, oval rear sight, and one piece walnut stock. CONDITION: Very good. All metal now in the white with oxidation. The stock has two minor age cracks on left side. Appears to have been reconverted as flash hole is partially obscured. All legends are sharp. Working but weak hammer spring. Bore shows minor abrasion. PROVENANCE: Ex. Castlerock Museum.
