Standard configuration. Dated 1855 at the rear of the lock. Matching 1855 date on the tang in front of the 2 leaf folding rear sight. "VP eaglehead" proof. Walnut stock with no inspector's cartouche. Many of these were issued and used in the Civil War. The detachable shoulder stock is not present. CONDITION: Retains a pleasing patina overall with some pitting at the breech, showing evidence of having been cleaned at some point. Markings are clear. Tape primer door has an applied patina. Stock is good with some age cracks along the grain and plastic wood filler around where the stock would attach. Action is crisp. Pistol has been bored out and is now .64 caliber smoothbore. GR
