Lot #1077:
(A) WINCHESTER 1887 12 GAUGE LEVER ACTION SHOTGUN.
Dates to 1888. Standard lever action with plain barrel, single bead front sight, exposed hammer, round knob walnut stock with checkered steel butt plate and matching two piece forearm. Winchester legends are stamped on lower tang, the script WRA co stamped on left side of frame. There is a WP in oval stamp on the barrel which began in 1905 indicating this shotgun was returned to factory for something after that year. CONDITION: Very good. The case color frame is now grey and brown patina mix as is the barrel and tube. Stocks are excellent as refinished. Mechanically sound with a fairly clean bore.
