(A) WINCHESTER-LEE NAVY 1895 STRAIGHT PULL SPORTING RIFLE.
Manufactured in 1898. Blued tapered sporting weight barrel with 2-line address and ".236 U.S.N." caliber designation. Ramped, period replaced front sight. The rear sight dovetail is fitted with a blank and the bolt mounted with a peep sight. Custom factory styled deluxe checkered fiddleback walnut stock with Schnabel tip, hard rubber WRACO grip cap, and rifle butt plate. CONDITION: Fine as restored. Nearly all of the reapplied blue is retained with evidence of older cleaned oxidation under the finish. Stock is excellent with sharp checkering and a few light marks. Soft bore. Bolt fails to stay closed and should be treated with caution.
