(A) WINCHESTER MODEL 1876 .40-60 LEVER ACTION RIFLE (1886).
Dates to 1886. Standard rifle with round barrel, full length magazine tube, German silver tip dovetailed front sight, replacement flat top rear sight with no elevator, blue finish, and walnut stock with trapdoor rifle buttplate and matching forearm. Tang has the Model legend along with Winchester barrel legend and caliber stamp at breech. CONDITION: Very good. The frame shows flashes of blue with strong blue on gate, otherwise, rifle is a clean and crisp patina. Stocks are slightly shy and very clean. Mechanically sound with a nicely defined bore showing some frosting and minimal abrasion.
