Made by Winchester Repeating Arms in 1894. 20" blued round carbine style barrel is fitted with standard carbine pinned blade front sight and 1887 style graduated rear flip carbine sight and marked with Winchester Address and "44 W.C.F.". Full blued tubular magazine with blued barrel bands. Solid blued frame action with attached saddle ring, case-hardened lever and hammer, and top tang marked "Model 1892/-WINCHESTER-/PAT OCT 14 1884". Plain walnut standard stock carbine steel buttplate. Matching plain walnut factory forearm. CONDITION: 90% original action finish with light handling marks and possibly cleaned long ago and fading now to a silvery gray patina. Blue staring to wear to silver, harder at carry points and near edges; wood has some light handling marks and a dry appearance. Forearm shows some old heavy dings in center in front of barrel band. Receiver shows no saddle ring shadow. Hammer and lever fading to a silvery patina. Magazine tube has faded to a silvery patina. Frosted bore with visible rifling and good mechanics.
