The lock is stamped "W.L EVANS V. FORGE" with eagle, "US", and dated 1829. Left side of stock has the LS inspector cartouche for Luther Sage along with a small "V". Musket is complete with full length walnut stock, two bands and fore-end tip, button shape ramrod, US stamped butt plate, and two swivels. The lock was case colored, balance in the white. This musket was period converted to the percussion system. CONDITION: Very good. All metal is a fairly homogenous patina. There is usual pitting at nipple. All legends are visible. The stock shows normal scattered dings, small dents and impressions. There is a light hairline on left side at plate. Working order. Bore is dark.
