(C) COLT 1905 .45 ACP SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL.
Stunning Colt Model 1905 manufactured in 1907. The Model 1905 was one of the most significant developments in the history of Colt as the first automatic chambered for the .45 Automatic Colt Pistol cartridge. Finished in a bright commercial polished blue with diminutive blade front sight and a rounded drift adjustable rear sight. 2 line Colt address on left side of slide with circled Rampant Colt monogram on left rear of slide. Mounted with the original diamond pattern checkered and varnished 2 piece walnut grips with nickel silver escutcheons. Fire blue finished short milled trigger with case color finished rounded spur hammer. The Model 1905 had the external extractor system as a carry over of the Model 1902 Sporting series of pistols. The Model 1905 remains one of the finest finished Colt automatics ever produced. CONDITION: Exceptionally fine with over 97% brilliant Colt blue finish remaining. All markings and legends remain crisp and legible. The grips are superb with little evidence of wear while only having some light impressions from handling. The bore is brilliant bright. The hammer retains most all of its subdued case colors, The action operates properly and smoothly and is mechanically excellent. An extremely excellent example.
