Manufactured in 1927. This is one of Colt's finest big bore double action revolvers. High polish blue finish. Swing out six shot fluted cylinder. Two piece carved steer head Ivory grip panels with silver Colt medallions. Lanyard loop. Factory blade front and a U notch rear sights. Two line address and patent dated on the top of the barrel, "COLT'S PT. F. A. MFG. CO. HARTFORD, CT. U.S.A. / PATD. AUG. 5, 1884 JUNE 5, 1900 JULY 4, 1905". Model and caliber designation on the left side of the barrel, "NEW SERVICE 45 COLT". The Rampant Colt logo is on the left side of the frame. It comes in a purple colt box without any labels. CONDITION: This gun retains virtually all of the factory high polish blue finish with just a couple of minute handling marks. Bright and shiny bore with sharp lands and grooves. The carved ivory grips show some age cracks and some yellowing. They fit this gun like factory grips. The box is in good condition with the lid missing one end and some edge wear. A very high condition New Service.
