(C) DWM 1900 TEST LUGER .30 LUGER SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL WITH CASE.
This is a scarce American Eagle Army Test Luger produced by DWM. In April of 1901, the United States Board of Ordnance and Fortifications put in an order for 1,000 of these Lugers following test trials in which these models were fired 2,000 times under the harshest conditions possible. These Lugers feature the Great Seal over the chamber. The characteristics that separate these American Test Eagle lugers from the other Model 1900 Lugers are the lack of proofs, the lack of a 'GERMANY' export stamp, and the inclusion of last two digits of the serial number on the right end of the takedown lever. The pistol has early features of a dished toggle knob, narrow trigger, and a grip safety. The grips are numbered to the gun. The magazines are correct and unnumbered. CONDITION: The pistol exhibits some high edge wear to the side plate and muzzle. The finish on the grip strap is thinning and has wear, mainly on the heel. The pistol shows signs of restoration and has finish added. The bore is bright, with light frost in the grooves. The mechanics of the pistol are sound.
