(C) ENGRAVED COLT SINGLE ACTION ARMY .45 LC REVOLVER.
A highly desirable Colt Single Action Army revolver, First Generation, serial number 207827, manufactured circa 1902–1903, retaining matching serial numbers on the frame, trigger guard, and backstrap. The revolver is marked on the barrel “COLT PT. F.A. MFG CO HARTFORD CT U.S.A.”, along with patent date markings on the frame, consistent with early 20th-century Colt production. This example is extensively embellished with full coverage scroll engraving across the frame, cylinder, barrel, and grip straps, exhibiting fine, continuous floral and foliate patterns typical of presentation-grade work. The cylinder, hammer, and trigger display a contrasting gold-toned finish, complementing the engraved bright metal surfaces for a striking two-tone appearance. The barrel flats incorporate an engraved panel with “COLT SINGLE ACTION ARMY .45” marking. The revolver is fitted with pearl-pattern grips, displaying attractive swirling iridescence. Featuring an approximately 7 1/2-inch barrel, this revolver presents in very good overall condition, with strong engraving coverage, crisp markings, and matching numbers throughout; finish shows light handling wear and minor surface marks consistent with age, while the mechanical components are intact and well-maintained. This revolver represents an elegant and highly decorative example of an early 20th-century Colt SAA, reflecting the era’s transition from utilitarian frontier arms to finely finished personal or presentation pieces.
