Receiver manufactured by Erfurt dated 1918 and stamped with Imperial Eagle on left hand side. Most numbers matching including: receiver, bolt, safety, floorplate, rear sight ladder, and front sight. Only nonmatching number is the front barrel band stamped "68". Stock is marked "A". Sling is of reproduction. CONDITION: Metal components retain 95% original factory applied finish, showing wear on front barrel band, high edge wear on front sight, bayonet lug, and normal wear on bolt. Metal shows light marks of corrosion and could be cleaned. Wood retains nearly all of the original factory applied varnish with light handling marks scattered all around and few indentations on the left side. Bore is frosted, but shows strong rifling throughout. Action is smooth and locks up tightly. MW
