Developed by John Browning in 1910, it became a wildly popular pocket pistol but today it is most talked about within the context of the First World War as it is the same model as used by Gavrilo Princip to assassinate Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria in Sarajevo on June 28, 1914. Standard blue finish, with FN monogram black checkered grips and comes with one magazine. Top of slide is matted. Left side of slide displays the FN legends and there are sundry German proof marks about the pistol. CONDITION: Fine. Overall, pistol has seen some high edge holster wear, minor age spotting, drifting on back strap and muzzle wear, it still retains at least 75-80% of its finish. Grips are fine and the bore is bold displaying some light frosting.
