(C) GRIFFIN & HOWE REMINGTON MODEL 722 .222 BOLT ACTION RIFLE WITH UNERTL SCOPE.
This classic mid-century American sporting rifle has been expertly customized by Griffin & Howe of New York on the solid Remington 722. The factory barrel and action are blued to match with the "No. 22405 GRIFFIN & HOWE INC. NEW YORK, NY" address added along with script "CAL. .222" caliber designation. Factory iron sights have been removed and professionally dressed, a Unertl 10X scope mounted using the rear sight boss and rear bridge on dark finished mounts. Scope includes both thread on caps. Bolt body, follower, and the external facing areas of the raceway are engine turned. Bolt handle is finely checkered. Custom stocked in walnut with ebony tip, fine hand cut checkering, sling eyes, hinged trapdoor bottom metal, steel capped pistol grip, double line Monte Carlo cheek piece, "RD" engraved toeline escutcheon, and checkered Niedner style butt plate. CONDITION: Excellent as customized by Griffin & Howe. Nearly all of the blued finish is retained with a few light handling marks. Stock is likewise fine with crisp checkering and a few scattered impressions. Fine bright bore with crisp, well defined rifling. Fine mechanics. Clear optics.
