1936 vintage Model 71 Deluxe. Considering only 4 Model 71 rifles were built the first year of 1935, this is about the earliest Model 71 you are likely to find. Serial number 3823. Deluxe grade with checkered, walnut stock and forearm. Pistol grip with hard rubber Winchester cap. Checkered steel shotgun style buttplate. Typical pre-War long tang with bolt mounted peep sight. CONDITION: Near mint with 97%+ original blue overall. The only noticeable blue wear being on the loading gate and retainer. Wood shows light wear. Action is sharp and crisp. Bore is bright and clean.
