Manufactured between May and December of 1944 as part of Inland's second production run of M1A1 paratrooper carbines. Parkerized Inland barrel dated "10-44" with milled protected blade front sight and late adjustable style "J.A.O." marked aperture rear sight. Flat bolt. Inland trigger group with push button safety and unmarked magazine catch. Walnut low wood stock marked internally "IO" with unmarked pistol grip and side folding wire stock. Inside of buttplate cast with "B57614" drawing number followed by a star. "IO" stamped 2-rivet top wood retained by an "AMCO" marked bayonet lug barrel band. Complete with "IS" oiler, 2 15-round magzines, 1944 production dual tone Hamelco magazine pouch, and a very nice 1944 M.D. MFG. Co. carry bag. CONDITION: Very good overall. Carbine retains the majority of its arsenal metal finishes with some expected wear and scuffs. Stock finish has largely drifted to a fading brown patina. Stocks have been lightly sanded and reoiled with a few scattered impressions and a chip on the pistol grip. Very good, strong and bright bore. Very good mechanics. Magazine catch is a little sticky. A nice, honest example.
