Lot consists of a Mauser Argentino Modelo 1891 Engineer's carbine and a Fazakerley No. 5 MK I carbine. (A) Manufactured by DWM under contract for Argentina. There is a tiny (barely legible) import stamp on the left side of the receiver that reads "GIBBS MARTBURG WV". Matching numbers include the receiver, bolt, barrel, forward & middle barrel bands, floorplate, and stock. Argentinian crest over the chamber is intact and various Argentinian proofs are present. CONDITION: Metal components retain traces of their arsenal applied blue finish, with the balance turning a grey patina. Bore is bright, but exhibits use and retains fair rifling. Stock is good, showing small nicks and indentations all around. (B) Post WWII Enfield No. 5 MK I "Jungle Carbine" manufactured by Fazakerley in 1947. Matching numbers are a forced match and include the receiver, bolt, and stock. Metal components have been refinished. Complete with period canvas sling and Royal Factory Ishapore marked bayonet. CONDITION: Metal components retain the vast majority of their reapplied arsenal finish, with small nicks and minor edge wear all around. Very nice and bright bore, with strong rifling throughout. Stock is good, showing scattered nicks and indentations all around. MLW
