Lot #2206:
(C) MARLIN MODEL 1897 LEVER ACTION RIFLE
Standard take down rifle with full octagon barrel, full tube magazine, replaced dovetailed blade front sight, semi buckhorn rear sight, straight grip walnut stock with Marlin gutta percha butt plate and matching forearm. CONDITION: Very good. Retains the vast majority of the reapplied case color on frame, bright reapplied blue on bolt, nearly full blue reapplied blue coverage on barrel and tube but legends are weak as a result. Wood is excellent displaying sundry impressions and dings and the butt plate does not fit precisely. Mechanically sound retaining a discernable but weak bore.
