(C) MAUSER 42 CODE K98 BOLT ACTION RIFLE.
Manufactured in 1939. Classic blued finish throughout. Ramped front sight base with replacement Marbles gold bead sport front sight. Standard tangent rear sight. Walnut hardwood stocks with clean eagle "H" Heer marking and waffenamt stamps. Mounts include an H front band, milled sling band, milled bottom metal, and a flat butt plate. A set of commercial sling swivels have been added to the stock. A likely World War II bringback turned into a hunting rifle. Externally visible numbers are matching excluding the bolt release. No visible import markings. CONDITION: Fine. Rifle retains the vast majority of its original blue with high edge wear and and some losses on the bottom metal. Stocks have handling marks throughout along with an extra vacant sling swivel hole on the bottom of the forend. Well defined, frosted bore. Fine mechanics.
