(C) PRE-WAR SMITH & WESSON NON-REGISTERED MAGNUM .357 DOUBLE ACTION REVOLVER.
High Patridge front sight with adjustable rear sight. Checkered rib and top strap. Grooved patented case colored hammer and case color service trigger. Matching serial numbers observed on butt, barrel, cylinder, ejector, and interior of right grip. Mounted with original Smith & Wesson grip spacers with finger bumper. The Pre-War Non Registered revolver is a scarce Smith & Wesson with only about 1400 produced. Introduced at the end of the Registered series in 1938, and production was ended at the US entrance of WWII. N-Frame square butt with 5 screw frame. CONDITION: Very fine with metal retaining over 95% blue. Brilliant bore and chambers. Grips are good with some period of use wear and added finish. The action is extremely smooth with a solid lock up. The grip adaptor is very fine with most all blue finish. Hammer and trigger retain most all of their case color finishes. A fine and very rare Smith & Wesson revolver.
