This is a high quality 19th century Spanish copy of the famous Smith & Wesson top break revolver with nickel finish, blue trigger guard, case colored hammer and trigger, lanyard ring, full barrel rib, and monogram horn grips with "12" written in pencil, which matches the assembly number "12" inside frame. The barrel rib legend reads "Best American cartridges are that fit best the DA revolver". Side of frame stamped ".44 cal". Cylinder length is not long enough for the 44-40. CONDITION: Excellent. This is one of the best quality and condition Spanish copies this cataloguer has seen. Retains nearly all the bright case colors. Fine blue brown patina mix on trigger guard. The cylinder face shows no real burn. Revolver retains nearly 85% nickel with minor rub at strap, one outside cylinder wall is blending grey, a few minor freckles, and light handling marks. Action works perfectly both single and double. The grips are a bit shy as they were fitted. The bore is sharp with minor residue. It comes with a vintage unmarked shoulder holster and strap.
