These contract Remington 1911-A1 pistols were made from 1943 through 1945. Left side of frame exhibits the "FJA" inspection stamp for Frank Atwood. Right side with inspection Ordnance wheel. Top of slide has the proof P. Right side of frame also has "UNITED STATES PROPERTY & M1911 A1 US ARMY" legends. Standard short checkered trigger, serrated arched mainspring housing, checkered hammer, checkered safety, serrated slide stop, beveled edge square notch rear sight, Keyes grips, and blued unmarked magazine. Comes in a California Express Agency shipping box. CONDITION: Excellent. Appears unissued showing a light drag line, strong blue on barrel, sharp legends and nominal handling marks. Bore is bright.
