Dates to 1964. Beginning in 1963, Winchester filled military contracts for the Model 52D rifles for the for the US Army and US Marine Corp shooting teams. Rifles were stamped or etched either "U.S." or "U.S. Property" on the receiver. This example has the etched "US". Features a heavy bull barrel with target scope blocks and target rear sight base. The stock is smooth walnut, target type with the alloy under rail. The barrel is roll marked with the Winchester logo and model type. CONDITION: Fine. Rifle retains at least 95% blue finish showing sundry handling marks. The stock has been shooter sculpted to his preference in several areas. Mechanically sound with a defined bore that shows some abrasion.
