(C) WEST GERMAN WEATHERBY MARK V .340 MAGNUM BOLT ACTION RIFLE (1968)
Crica 1968 per P prefix serial number. Barrel with porting at muzzle and no provisions for iron sights. Left side with Weatherby cursive logo and caliber marking, right side with "MADE IN W. GERMANY". Action with serial number on right side, cursive Weatherby logo on left, and "MARK V" over patent number. Leupold M8-4x fixed power scope, reticle with fine line duplex and enlarged central dot. Custom walnut stock with a contrasting forearm cat and rich fiddlebacking for essentially the entire length of the stock, checkered in a modified wave pattern at forearm and pistol grip, fluted nose, cheekpiece that flows into wrist, studs at forearm and toe line, checkered pistol grip cap, and a Pachmayr black rubber recoil pad. CONDITION: Retains nearly all of hte blue finsh throughout with some scattered handling marks. Bolt head and Leupold blue starting to plum. Stock with scattered handling marks and impressions, some paint (?, unclear) in checkering at forearm. Mechanically fine, glass clear but slightly askew, bore with well defined rifling and some firing residue throughout.
