Winchester Model 1885 Highwall made by Winchester Repeating Arms Company in 1901. Blued No. 2 half octagon 30" barrel in .32-40 caliber with spirit level front sight, no rear sight boss, and Winchester Vernier tang sight. Blued coil spring action with double set triggers, custom case hardened lever with walnut wood checkered handle, and no factory serial number on tang. Walnut deluxe Schuetzen style checkered butt with cheekpiece and Helm nickeled buttplate. Matching checkered factory style ebony tipped forearm. Comes with factory research verifying caliber, set triggers, but gun is listed with a 34" No. 4 octagon barrel; other features are not mentioned, but appear to be of the period. CONDITION: 90% original blue with some light edge wear and scratches on receiver. Lever has faded to a plum patina. 90% remaining of a period varnish with custom checkering and some small handling marks and dings. Excellent bore and mechanics. A great looking Schuetzen highwall of the day. DLM
